A letter to interested parties,

Hello my name is Steven P. Harrison and I have recently established an LLC named Harrison Hydrography and Oceanography or H2O. As the name implies, our specialty is Hydrographic and Oceanographic support to the Marine Environmental, Industrial, Defense and Scientific community. My background consist of many years working on the water starting as a tugboat deck hand, engineer on Coast Guard Search and Rescue vessels through senior party chief (SNR) on multiple hydrographic, oceanographic surveys. I have recently retired from a 29 year career with the Naval Oceanographic Office. Ultimately, I achieved the directorship of the Hydrographic Department and ran the Department for 6 years. There, I modernized processes and department structure to keep up with the ever increasing data throughput and collection/processing technology.Our mission statement reads, “Increase client revenue by providing expert and quality Hydrographic and Oceanographic consulting and support services that enhances the customer’s product and services.”

Some of the support we can provide are technical improvements and innovation to processes, program and or project management, survey support (estimations, plans, technical specification, and execution), procedure development and of course, training. Certainly we want to tailor our support specific to customer needs.

My qualifications include but are not limited to

Bachelor of Science in Physics

Master of Science in Applied Physics (concentration in Underwater Acoustics)

Master of Science in Hydrographic Sciences

Category “A” certification from the International Federation of Surveyors and International Hydrographic Organization that states my academic qualifications regarding the Science of Hydrography (FIG-IHO)

14 years’ experience in Anti-Submarine Warfare, underwater acoustics support to navy

15 years’ experience in Hydrographic/Bathymetric support to Navy and the Nation.

We will certainly be employing further expertise as needed.

In closing, I’m excited to become part of the South Mississippi team of companies supporting marine related industry and look forward to partnering with the members of the group to support our Federal and State agencies and of course, private industry.
